Seek the Lord and Live (Amos)

 

1.       Is God's work for His people a process of conditioning in order to modify their behavior into a form compliant with the Law?

2.       What was Israel seeking in Amos 6:12-13 and 8:4-6 and by what means?

3.       Was Israel keeping the Law?

4.       If Israel was keeping the Law what grounds would God have for rejecting their worship, denying them blessings?  Then why does He cast them into exile?

5.        Amos 9:11-15  How does the Lord reveal His righteousness that results in restoration?  Is it by the means of natural law?

6.       How is the hope of restoration revealed by the transcendent symbol of the slain lamb on the altar?

7.       How does Christ reveal, display, and provide proof of this hope?

8.       Hebrews 5:14 -6:6  Is this hope based upon the elementary principles of works or the power of the Holy Spirit?

9.       What is the distinction between that which is good from that which is evil?
